Hello Hatching Health Community!!

With the recent global challenges posed by the spread of COVID-19, we want to reach out and share a few resources to inform you of existing opportunities to help if you want to get involved. With a serious lack of resources, it is paramount that the stakeholders capable of helping out in this time of crisis (You!) work together and not try to reinvent the wheel.

It is important to listen to the health authorities and clinicians to understand what they need and then come together as a community to align on how to provide that through our collective resources. There are a number of emergency hackathons launching, many of which are clinically directed. Some of these are even to just bring to light existing resources and support groups which are already well on the way to solutions. These are VERY important and just as meaningful; we need to collaborate as much as we can. There is also need for innovation outside of direct patient care so consider approaching the problem from a different angle (innovation to facilitate social distancing, promote hygiene or support the nuances of underrepresented populations in the Downtown Eastside).

Please feel free to use Hatching Health as a forum to connect with fellow health innovators, post other ways to get involved, or share other solutions that are emerging. Remember this community is made up of engaged health innovators from technical, clinical and design backgrounds; let's see how the power of community can support those in need!

Open Source COVID19 Medical Supplies: A great resource to inform you of some relevant physiological, clinical and technological aspects of dealing with COVID-19 as well as guidelines as to how to get involved.

COVID19 Health Information Sharing Hackathon: Calling all doctors, coders, translators, and others to help in the fight to defeat COVID-19.

Remote Hackathon: A community of people who are building tools for those impacted by COVID-19.

CoronaHack: AI vs. COVID-19 (UK based virtual hackathon).

Global COVID-19 Innovation Challenge: This challenge will be open from March 23rd until May 31st, 2020.

Keep distance, wash your hands and stay healthy! Let's do our part to #plankthecurve
