Hatching Health Vision

hatch (verb; 'hach'): to bring forth or produce; devise; create; contrive; concoct

The idea is simple; bring brilliant people with different perspectives together to tackle challenges in healthcare. Far too often those facing these challenges are not connected with the expertise and resources to hatch solutions. Together, we can build an agile community of innovators to identify and solve technical problems in healthcare.

It’s so much easier to suggest solutions when you don’t know too much about the problem.

The Great Hatch

Vancouver is full of innovative, intelligent people and organisations but it is seldom that they come together in a completely unconstrained setting to be creative. We think there is no better way to solve problems.

Therefore, we have created an annual innovation event (The Great Hatch) that brings together individuals from engineering, healthcare, design, and business to work in interdisciplinary teams. Participants range from students to professionals and propose healthcare problems to prototype solutions to over one weekend.

The event aims to:

DESIGN and build solutions to the worlds most relevant problems in medicine

BRIDGE the gap between diverse individuals with the goal of solving problems in health care

In the long term we hope to:

CONNECT learners and professionals in an agile community to accelerate identification, prevention and problem solving in healthcare
